Planning a hotel IPTV installation
Start with a room and television inventory
Before choosing an IPTV configuration, document the number of rooms, television brands and model numbers, existing TV services and any equipment currently connected to each screen. Include shared spaces if they are part of the project. An inventory helps identify what can be assessed for reuse and what needs a closer compatibility review.
Review the network with the installation team
Document how rooms connect to the network and which equipment manages those connections. Include relevant wired and wireless coverage, the existing TV delivery method and any restrictions set by the hotel’s IT team. Ask the proposed supplier to explain the network requirements for its specific configuration. A general planning guide cannot establish bandwidth, device compatibility or network changes for an individual property.
Define the guest experience and integrations
List the services guests should be able to access: television channels, streaming, hotel information or messaging. Identify any systems involved in personalization or checkout behavior. Agree which information is exchanged, who manages access and how those functions will be tested. Confirm supported integrations individually rather than assuming compatibility from a general product description.
Agree a pilot and acceptance checklist
Choose representative rooms for a pilot, covering the television and connection types used at the property. The checklist should cover the agreed viewing functions, guest instructions, language handling, privacy behavior and hotel staff workflows. Record results and resolve issues before extending the same setup across more rooms.
Plan handover and support
The project proposal should explain equipment, installation responsibilities, staff training and ongoing support. Agree who updates hotel information, who handles a fault and what information the hotel should provide when reporting one. Keep the final configuration and acceptance record available to the operations team.
Prepare for a SereniCAST discussion
Bring your room count, television inventory, network overview and desired guest experience to the discussion. Use the hotel IPTV product page to explore SereniCAST, then ask for a proposal appropriate to your property.
